The 162E1-13.8-ON<\/strong> is a customer-specific version of the proven 162E-13.8-ON featuring directly connected, tinned cable leads. This non-isolated DC\/DC buck converter operates across an input voltage range of 16–70 VDC and supplies 13.8 V loads with up to 20 A or 275 W. Efficiency reaches up to 95%.<\/p>\n

Customised for E-Mobility and Marine Environments<\/h3>\n

This version was developed for an E-Mobility application with limited installation space, elevated thermal requirements and marine environmental conditions. Within the specified operating and mounting conditions, the converter provides its rated output power without power derating.<\/p>\n

The 162E1-13.8-ON is therefore particularly suitable for compact vehicle installations requiring a reliable 13.8 V supply from a 48 V battery system.<\/p>\n

Tinned Connection Leads to Customer Specification<\/h3>\n

Instead of the blade terminals used on the standard product, the 162E1-13.8-ON is supplied with preassembled, 450 mm connection leads. Compared with bare copper conductors, the tinned copper conductors provide improved resistance to oxidation and corrosion. This is particularly beneficial in applications where moisture, condensation or salt-laden air may occur.<\/p>\n

The direct cable connection also reduces the number of exposed connection points on the device. It simplifies installation and allows the DC\/DC converter to be integrated directly into the customer-specific wiring harness.<\/p>\n

High Power Density Without Derating<\/h3>\n

With dimensions of only 90 × 90 × 26 mm, the converter delivers up to 275 W of output power. Its efficiency of up to 95% limits power losses, while the fanless design operates without moving wear components and is well suited to durable mobile applications.<\/p>\n

Even in thermally demanding installations, the DC\/DC converter operates without power derating within its specified operating conditions. The thermal mounting requirements stated in the datasheet must be observed to ensure full output power.<\/p>\n

Fully Potted for Demanding Operating Conditions<\/h3>\n

The electronics are fully encapsulated in polyurethane. The PU potting protects the electronic components against moisture, vibration, shock and climatic influences. Combined with the tinned connection leads, this creates a robust device configuration for E-Mobility and marine applications.<\/p>\n

The 162E1-13.8-ON is suitable for supplying sensors, control units, cameras, communication systems and other 12 V or 13.8 V onboard electronics.
