With an output power of 550 W, the DC\/DC converter delivers up to 3.5 A and achieves an efficiency of up to 95%. The galvanic isolation between primary and secondary side is rated at 2100 VDC.<\/p>\n<p>The 739-160-SD was developed for applications where a comparatively low battery voltage needs to be converted reliably into a high DC output voltage. Its CC\/CV characteristic enables operation with capacitive and active loads as well as the parallel connection of multiple converters. The maximum permissible capacitive load is unlimited. Integrated EMI filters on the input and output, very low input ripple and noise, and continuous no-load and short-circuit capability ensure stable operation even under demanding electrical conditions.<\/p>\n<p>A full polyurethane potting compound protects the electronics against moisture, vibration and other environmental influences while also supporting the converter\u2019s thermal performance. The Starbooster operates without power derating at ambient temperatures from \u221240 \u00b0C to +85 \u00b0C and features thermal shutdown at +90 \u00b0C. Its robust and compact housing measuring 130 \u00d7 130 \u00d7 28 mm makes it particularly suitable for mobile and battery-powered systems.<\/p>\n<p>The product series originated from a customer-specific development for a particularly demanding space application. A DC\/DC converter was required in a re-entry capsule to provide the high DC voltage needed for a safety-relevant system while withstanding severe vibrations during rocket launch and challenging environmental conditions.
