Swiss engineering expertise for DC/DC converters
Since 2008, Demke Electronic has been developing high-performance DC/DC converters in Switzerland for demanding applications. Our product platforms are continuously refined in our modern development laboratory and form the basis for standard products, customised solutions and custom developments.
Our engineers think like the octopus: flexible, adaptable and solution-oriented. New and further developed DC/DC converters are thoroughly tested in our own laboratory using modern measurement and testing equipment, a climate chamber and the necessary facilities to evaluate performance even under demanding operating conditions.
Our DC/DC converters are manufactured by our long-standing production partner in Bavaria, Germany. The company is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and has supported us for many years in the professional series production of our products.
1992
A new, independent generation in Switzerland
Annemarie and Werner Demke founded Demke Electronic GmbH in Germany. This is where the first in-house power converters were developed, marketed under the name “Demke DC-Transformer” and initially manufactured in the company’s own production facilities.
Martin Demke founded Demke Electronic in Switzerland as a legally independent company, separate from the German business. From the outset, Martin and Katrin Demke shared the management of the company, each contributing their own expertise: Martin is responsible for technical development and product innovation, while Katrin oversees strategic direction, finance and corporate organisation. Alongside the continuing business in Germany, the generational transition began. Initially, Demke Switzerland focused on the Asian market while the DC/DC converters were continuously further developed.
From 2009 onwards
Development and professional series production
With the expansion into the Asian market, demand for higher production volumes and manufacturing capacity also increased. For Demke Switzerland, the previous small-series production in Germany was supplemented and eventually replaced by professional series production at ELOTEC Fischer Elektronik GmbH in Furth im Wald.
At the same time, Martin Demke continued to develop the DC/DC converters in Switzerland. Existing product platforms were optimised, while new solutions were developed in response to the requirements of different applications and markets.
2016
Expansion of global sales
Demke Electronic in Switzerland took over global sales of selected products. The German and Swiss Demke companies continued to operate in parallel as legally independent entities.
2020
Broader international expansion
Demke Electronic began to strategically broaden its international market focus. Changes during the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this development: alongside the Asian market, Europe, the USA and Canada, India and Australia became increasingly important. This broadened the international customer base and reduced dependence on individual markets.
2022
The end of a chapter
Following the death of Werner Demke, the independent Demke Electronic GmbH based in Germany ceased its active business operations in 2022.
2024
New brand identity
With a new corporate design, Demke Electronic gained a modern and consistent brand identity. The octopus became the new brand symbol, representing the flexibility, intelligence and adaptability that define Demke Electronic and our DC/DC converters.
2026
Digital and paperless
As of 1 January 2026, Demke Electronic fully transitioned to digital and connected business processes. Modern software connects our processes, information and knowledge, enabling us to work flexibly and efficiently from anywhere in the world.

We continuously develop Demke Electronic and invest in modern technologies, digital processes and new opportunities for our customers.
