Technical features of our DC/DC buck converters

Our non-isolated 100 series DC/DC buck converters deliver maximum power and flexibility in an extremely compact design – up to 1,200 W. With an impressive 1:10 ultra-wide input range, our converters are suitable for a wide variety of requirements while providing outstanding efficiency. Designed for demanding applications, our robust and long-term reliable converters operate dependably even under extreme conditions from −40 °C to +85 °C, without power derating.

With protection against no-load operation and short circuits, as well as integrated EMC filters, our DC/DC converters provide maximum operational reliability while keeping ripple to a minimum. All DC/DC converters meet stringent industrial standards, with selected models also complying with the strict requirements of EN 55022 Class B. The protective polyurethane encapsulation ensures efficient heat dissipation and reliably protects the electronics against harmful environmental conditions.

Discover the versatility of our 100 series and take advantage of the available customisation options to find the right solution for your project.

Nothing Suitable? We Offer Custom Solutions

Not every power supply can be solved with a standard product. Different battery voltages, special output voltages, limited installation space, special connectors or high mechanical loads may require an adapted or completely new converter solution.

We develop custom DC/DC converters with single and bipolar output voltages, individual input voltage ranges, CC/CV control, galvanic isolation and project-specific connection options.

FAQs

Have questions? We have answers!

What is a non-isolated DC/DC buck converter?

A non-isolated DC/DC buck converter reduces a higher DC input voltage to a lower, stable DC output voltage. The input and output are electrically connected and are not galvanically isolated. This allows for compact and efficient converter solutions.

Non-isolated DC/DC buck converters are suitable for applications where galvanic isolation between the input and output is not required. Typical applications include onboard power systems, forklifts, mobile systems, pitch systems in wind turbines, as well as battery and backup applications.

An ultra-wide input range allows the DC/DC converter to operate across a particularly wide range of input voltages. An input range of 16 to 160 VDC, for example, corresponds to a ratio of 1:10. This allows a single converter to cover different voltage platforms and widely fluctuating input voltages.

No derating means that the converter delivers its full rated power across the entire specified temperature range from −40 °C to +85 °C – without any reduction in power at high or low temperatures. Many standard converters have to be derated at ambient temperatures of around 50–60 °C, which means they need to be oversized. DEMKE converters deliver up to 1,200 W even under extreme conditions, eliminating the need for oversizing.

Yes. DC/DC converters with a defined CC/CV charging profile can be used for controlled battery charging. The charging current is initially limited, after which the charging voltage is regulated. The required values must be matched to the specific battery and application.

Yes. Depending on the project, the input voltage range, output voltage, power, connections or mechanical design can be adapted to the requirements of the application. Get in touch with us if a standard product does not fully meet your requirements.
