DC/DC Buck-Boost Converters for Changing Input Voltages
DC/DC buck-boost converters stabilise a DC voltage even when the input voltage is temporarily below or above the required output voltage. DEMKE’s non-isolated 200 series DC/DC converters provide up to 600 W of power, operate with high efficiency and are ideal for battery systems, forklifts, AGVs, mobile power supplies and demanding industrial applications.
Technical Features of Our DC/DC Buck-Boost Converters
Our non-isolated 200 series DC/DC buck-boost converters provide up to 600 W of power and are an ideal choice for a wide range of applications. With a typical 1:4 ultra-wide input range, the DC/DC converters achieve excellent efficiency and, thanks to their short-circuit protection, ensure maximum operational reliability under all operating conditions.
The robust, no-load protected and long-term reliable converters operate dependably without power derating across a wide temperature range from −40 °C to +85 °C. Integrated EMC filters minimise ripple and ensure stable performance even under demanding conditions. Our DC/DC buck-boost converters are particularly suitable for charging high-capacity batteries and meet stringent industrial standards, with selected models also complying with the strict requirements of EN 55022 Class B.
The protective polyurethane potting provides efficient heat dissipation and reliably protects the sensitive electronics from harmful environmental conditions. Discover our 200 Series and benefit from flexible configuration options for your project.

Nothing Suitable? We Offer Custom Solutions
Not every power supply can be solved with a standard product. Different battery voltages, special output voltages, limited installation space, special connectors or high mechanical loads may require an adapted or completely new converter solution.
We develop custom DC/DC converters with single and bipolar output voltages, individual input voltage ranges, CC/CV control, galvanic isolation and project-specific connection options.

FAQs
Have questions? We have answers!
What is a DC/DC buck-boost converter?
A DC/DC buck-boost converter can both increase and decrease the input voltage. This allows it to provide a stable output voltage even when the input voltage is temporarily below or above the required output voltage.
When is a DC/DC buck-boost converter suitable?
A buck-boost converter is particularly suitable for applications with widely fluctuating input voltages, such as batteries, supercapacitors and vehicle onboard power systems. Typical applications include forklifts, AGVs, mobile systems and battery charging applications.
What is the advantage of a 1:4 ultra-wide input range?
A 1:4 ultra-wide input range allows the converter to operate across a particularly wide range of input voltages. This makes it possible to cover widely fluctuating supply voltages and different operating conditions with a single converter.
Can DC/DC buck-boost converters charge batteries?
Yes. DC/DC converters with a defined CC/CV charging profile can be used for controlled battery charging. The charging current is initially limited, after which the charging voltage is regulated. The required current and voltage values must be matched to the specific battery and application.
What does “no derating” mean for DC/DC buck-boost converters?
No derating means that the converter can deliver its full rated power across the specified temperature range from −40 °C to +85 °C without reducing its output power at high or low temperatures.
Can the DC/DC buck-boost converters be customised?
Yes. Depending on the project, the input voltage range, output voltage, power, connections or mechanical design can be adapted to the requirements of the application. Get in touch with us if a standard product does not fully meet your requirements.
