DC/DC Converters for a Green Future: Efficient Energy Processing for Renewable Energy
Context and Background
DC/DC converters play a crucial role in wind and solar power systems by ensuring the continuous and reliable operation of electrical systems. They are responsible for maintaining stable energy distribution and ensuring that systems operate optimally, even under varying conditions, such as fluctuating wind speeds or changing solar intensity. Our DC/DC converters contribute significantly to the performance and reliability of renewable energy systems.
DC/DC Converters for Wind Turbines: Safe Power Supply for Pitch Systems and Communication Modules
Wind turbines are often situated in remote locations, facing extreme weather conditions. To ensure safety and constant communication, it's crucial that their systems remain operational at all times. We utilize two versatile voltage converters for this purpose: the 154DH-24-ON powers sensors and actuators while controlling the pitch system, which adjusts the rotor blades' angle to optimize performance based on wind speed. Meanwhile, the galvanically isolated DC/DC converter 344DH-24 provides safe power to the communication module and is backed by a battery for reliability in case of failure.
These converters have been refined over the years to meet evolving challenges and are now available in their latest version, featuring a robust aluminum housing for enhanced durability.
DC/DC Converters for Off-Grid Solar Modules
One of our clients, a company specializing in off-grid solar system design and production, needs a DC/DC converter that delivers 24VDC output and a power rating of 1000W for their solar installations. The converter must maintain an impressive efficiency of 95% across its entire operating range. Solar systems and their components face a variety of conditions, including extreme temperatures and intense sunlight.
To meet these demands, we utilize our galvanically isolated DC/DC converter, the 755-24-SD, which operates flawlessly in ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C without any performance loss. For the required 1000W power output, two units are connected in parallel.
